William Henry Knives
William Henry knives uses a patent-pending steel
dubbed Wave Damascus for each blade in its $2,950 Maestro culinary set; 45
layers of three separate alloys give the knives their strength and unique
appearance. Handles crafted from cocobolo wood are hand-finished to a satiny
shine, and stainless steel bolsters connecting blade to handle have hidden
weight-reduction pockets for heft and balance. “I use only state-of-the-art
alloys and premium natural materials in combinations that merge form with
function,” says Matt Conable, the company’s cofounder and senior designer. A
solid maple knife rack accompanies each culinary set—its magnets attract Maestro
blades and prevent the dulling effect of contact with wood. William Henry Knives
also offers luxury pocketknives and boxed sets. Each knife is engraved with the
company logo and a unique serial number.
