Collection Gift Guide: A Grape Spa: Vida Emanuel Day Spa

Christian Gulliksen

December 1, 2004

VIDA EMANUEL DAY SPA
Vida Emanuel was reared in Iran among women who visited salons daily and who considered skin care a necessity rather than a luxury. It is an attitude Emanuel encourages the clients of her eponymous Beverly Hills spa to adopt. “It amazes me how much people don’t know about maintaining their skin’s beauty,” she says. “They think if they just buy cream that is the latest fad or go get Botox and collagen, that they will improve their beauty. This is simply not the case.” Emanuel has developed a product range for her noncomedogenic Take 5 System with ingredients chosen to work synergistically to prevent acne, free radical—induced damage, and premature aging of skin. The daily regimen includes five steps: cleansing, prepping, nourishing, moisturizing, and protecting, all supplemented by a weekly home peel. Products are geared to both normal and oily skin and range in price from $200 to $275, while the home peel sells for $200.
