Great Machines: Speed Reads: Focus on Lotus

Paul Meyers

June 1, 2008

When The Lotus B ook by William Taylor was first published in July 1998, it completely sold out in less than five months. In order to meet such heavy demand, a revised edition entitled The Lotus Book Series 3: The Complete History of Lotus Cars (Standard Edition, shown, $69.95) was recently released with expanded layouts of popular early models and new cars, like the redesigned Elise and Exige. Nearly 1,300 photos fill the 316-page book and each vehicle is meticulously accounted for with an in-depth historical record and specification chart. This book is also offered in two special editions. The Limited Edition ($99.95) is signed by the author, has a green cloth slipcase, and is restricted to 500 copies. The Publishers Edition ($350) is limited to 50 exemplars and offered in black leather binding emblazoned with the Lotus crest. In addition to being signed by the author and presented in a cloth clamshell slipcase, the Publishers Edition has gilt-edged pages and a gold ribbon marker.
