Surf photographer Art Brewer waited until last light to snap

gun as the tide went out on the beach in Dana Point, Calif.
"I was blown away
by how it came out," he says. His trick for making it
appear as a floating
monolith on the strand? "A homemade sand spike and
double-sided tape."
